On December 2nd, I ran (walked and videoed) The Round Rock Rotary Reindeer Run 5K Fun Run, sponsored by the Sunrise Rotary Club of Round Rock and City of Round Rock Parks and Recreation.  Never having run a 5K before, this was a great way to kick-off my first attempt.

Net proceeds will go to the maintenance and improvement of the city’s Play for All Abilities Park for children with cognitive or physical challenges. The Play for All Abilities Park is located at 151 North A.W. Grimes Blvd. in Round Rock.  The Park is intended for all to play as well as for therapy and learning
Children enjoyed climbing exploring the fire truck, trying on a police vest and, of course, a visit with Santa.
The highlight of the run was the race route through the Rock’N Lights Holiday Light Tour, a spectacular series of lights which ranged from patriotic to religious themes.
At dusk, 2 million lights began to sparkle along the  1 ½ mile path. The Kids 1K kicked off the race followed by the 5K runners and walkers. More than 800 people ran or walked this holiday event.

We all felt the spirit of the holiday season that evening at the Reindeer Run.  Happy Holidays y’all.
